I am not making this up
I was making mention to one of my two daughters about how cute they both happened to be when they were born. She told me that they were made to watch a video in health class earlier this year. The video was apparently of a live birth as part of the middle school’s sex education curriculum. Believe it or not, the health teacher's name is Mr. Highmen. The jokes started flying through my head, none of which I can repeat here.

Butterflies
This is my latest creation. The background is stock footage kindly supplied by the good folks at Artbeats. The flying butterflies are a complete construction from the ground up, using my own JavaScript code within Adobe After Effects. I created this one minute clip as a result of attempting to author a decent tutorial for VTC on After Effects 6.5 Advanced. This movie is used to explain the wiggle function as well as be the vehicle for explaining many interesting things about advanced 3D graphics within After Effects. Autumn to Winter 1993
Here are four more gems from the past (at least for those of you who know the people in the videos, a.k.a. family members).August 19, 1993 Carly and Daddy Floor horseplay shortly before Kim and I broke up. |
September 17, 1993 California I took a week-long “decompression” vacation in the Los Angeles area. My dad’s cousin Bill Richards graciously let me camp out at his pad / crib / whatever for the week. |
November 6, 1993 Informal Gathering This is an informal gathering at the house on Seabright Drive. I didn’t live there anymore, but the kids are so cute, especially Carly trying to talk all sophisticated and “grown-up like” on her plastic phone. |
December 19, 1993 Pre-Christmas at Chris’ Parent’s House This was taped up near Cedar Point, where Chris grew up. We dated from late September of 1993 through about June of 1994. I think is where Carly became terrified of dogs for a while. |

Intruder Alert!
After reading about the seasoned pilot and the student pilot who flew into restricted airspace over Washington D.C., I just have to laugh at their stupidity. One of the first things you learn as a student pilot is the concept of restricted airspace, proper airport approach procedures and flight planning.
Maybe it’s just me, but if I were flying within 50 miles of Washington D.C., I would put myself on alert to the fact that, if I’m not careful, there might be an F-16 coming to knock me out of the sky. I would pay more careful attention to where I was flying.
Not only that, but if I were unable to contact a tower, I would make absolutely sure that I could not see the Washington Monument, Capital Building and White House out my front window.
In the final analysis, these are the kinds of pilots that make airspace unsafe. They do not plan well, they do not make good decisions in the air and they pretend a threat does not exist even when it’s inbound with air-to-air missiles.
In a word — dumb.

How did she do that?
You may have already been sent this as an email attachment or as a link to a web site with the video, but here it is for your enjoyment. Even though the footage seems authentic, I’ll give you three guesses as to why, in actuality, it’s a fake.
